8-01-11 7:07am Deputy Godzicki investigated a two vehicle accident 5 miles NW of Woodward on highway 169. Ashley A. Porter 23 of Ankeny was south bound on highway 169, and fell aslepp veering into the north bound lanes of traffic a north bound vehicle operated by Daniel J. Krumm 27 of Urbandale, too evasive action and went to the right and then left into the ditch and cornfield. No injures were reported. damages were est. at $3,000.00 to a 2007 Toyota Prius operated by Krumm and 00 damages to Porter's 2008 Suzuki Grand Vit. Porter was cited for failure to yield half of roadway.
8-01-11 8:47am Deputy Godzicki responded to Camp Sacajawia to investigate a theft of a back pack from one of the Coucelors. investigation continuing.
8-01-11 5:44pm Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to the Sunstream Retreat Center East of Ogden on a complaint of lost or stolen wallet from one of the Workers at the Facility.
8-01-11 9:23pm Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to an alarm sounding at Ag Reliant Genetics in the 2200 block of 229th Place. Was a false alarm.
8-01-11 10:19pm Deputy Zeutenhorst made a traffic stop at 1st and Cedar in Boone. Driver Ellen L. Jensen 72 of Madrid was cited for open container of Alcohol in the vehicle.
08-02-11 11:23p.m. Sgt. Wingate and Deputies Ruter and Gray charged: Alexandra Burt, 18 of Pilot mound with underage possession of alcohol, Leah Savits, 18 of Ogden with underage possession of alcohol, and Logan Savits,16 of Ogden with possession of marijuana. Christopher Hansen, 21 of Boone and Derrick Janes, 23 of Carlisle were arrested for providing alcohol to minors. All persons were located at O Ave on the Tressel bridge.
08-03-11 5:14 a.m. Deputy Ruter stopped a vehicle within the 600 blk. of Highway 17 and arrested Jose Cruz-Garcia, 30 of Stratford for driving while barred.
8-03-11 8:52am Chief Deputy Elsberry executed a writ of ejectment at 107 Plum St. Boone. Was completed by 10:30am.
8-03-11 3:05pm Deputy Pontius responded to a medical assist in the 1900 block of Peach Ave, Madrid. Boone Ambulance and Madrid Fire responded.
8-03-11 3:36pm Deputy Pontius investigated a two vehicle accident 4 miles West of Ames on Highway 30 and U Ave. Matthew J. Bennett 25 of Urbandale was had pulled off the roadway in the construction area, and was attempting to pull back into traffic east bound, another east bound vehicle operated by Clairissa D. Rial 22 of Ames was struck by the Bennett vehicle in his attempt to get into traffic. No injuries were reported. Damages were est at $1,800.00 to Bennett's 2008 Chevy, and $3,000.00 to Rial's 1996 Ford.
8-03-11 4:12pm Deputy Pontius investigated a two vehicle accident 3.5 miles south of Boone at 252nd and Quill. Richard W. Walker 43 of Savannah Missouri was stopped at the stop sign south bound then pulled out in front of a east bound vehicle operated by Robert E. Welch 72 of Lawrence Kansas. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $5,000.00 to Walker's 1997 Pontiac, and $8,000.00 to Welch's 1995 Ford F350.
8-03-11 4:28pm Deputy Gray investigated a two vehicle accident at 280th and W Ave, Boone. Julie J. Gustafson-Minot 47 of Madrid was west bound on 280th when she failed to yield the right of way at an uncontrolled intersection to a south bound vehicle operated by Amy E. Sabino 36 of Kelly. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $4,000.00 to Minot's 2001 Oldsmobile, and $2,000.00 to Sabino's 2005 Chevy.
8-04-11 12:34am Deputy Ruter made a traffic stop at 7th and Story, Boone. Driver Lance L. Hubby 38 of Ogden was cited for driving while license suspended.
8-04-11 12:57am Deputy Gray and Ruter responded to a complaint of a female that was left alone swimming in the Fraser Pond, her boy friend had left her around 9pm and now was concerned. Deputies checked the area. Eventually located her and arrested for pubic intoxication and illegal possession of prescription drug. Arrested was Marcia L. Shaffer 48 of Perry.
8-04-11 5:53am Deputy Ruter investigated a car-deer accident 3 miles east of Ogden on 216th. John S. Hill 67 of Boone was west bound when he struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $4,000.00 to a 2003 Chevy.
8-04-11 11:58am Deputy Pontius responded to West Ames at the Request of the Boone P.D. to check for a missing juvenile from the City of Boone. The child was not at the suspected location.
8-04-11 9:57pm Deputy Gray responded to the area of 130th and Nature Rd for an out of control child in a vehicle.
8-05-11 12:09am Sgt Wingate responded to Boone at 1105 1/2 16th St. Boone P.D. requested the K-9. Tazer did located drug parapharnilia. Boone P.D. Case.
8-05-11 6:31am Deputy Ruter responded to the area of 180th and V Ave. Reference a complaint of a Semi that had gone through the intersection speeding. It is uncontrolled but the corn makes for the intersection be pretty blind. Deputy spoke to the Semi Driver.
8-05-11 9:31pm Deputy Ruter investigated a car-deer accident 3 miles West of Luther on E57. Nathan J. Emery 19 of Nevada was west bound when he struck a deer in the roadway, causing $5,000.00 in damages to a 2003 Toyota. No injuries were reported.
8-06-11 4:25am Deputy Ruter responded to an incomplete 911 call from a Madrid Residence in the 1500 block of 315th St, no one would answer the door and everything seemed quite and no apparent break in. Dispatch also attempted to make phone call and no one answered, while Deputy was outside the home.
8-06-11 8:30am Deputy Pontius responded to a medical call in the area of the 400 block of S Main, Madrid. Elderly person had fallen.
8-06-11 9:12am Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a log across the roadway in the 500 block of V Ave, was a tree that had fallen, road Dept called to remove.
8-06-11 9:49pm Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a medical in the 1300 block of Montana Rd.
8-07-11 11:37am Deputy Godzicki investigated a motorcycle accident 2.5 miles West of Luther in the 1700 block of Peach. William G. Ahlf 60 of Altoona was south bound on Peach when a deer ran onto the roadway, driver then swerved to avoid hitting the deer and then went into the ditch, passenger fell from the bike. Injured was the passenger Paula J. Ahlf 53 of Altoona who was taken to Mercy by Air ambulance. Damages were est at $4,000.00 to a 1991 Honda ST1100.
8-07-11 12:13pm Deputy Godzicki responded to a burglary of a residence in the 200 block of 200th St, Ogden. Electronics and other times reported missing. Investigation continuing.
8-07-11 3:23pm Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of kids jumping off the wagon whell bridge NW of Boone in the 1000 block of 200th. Deputy spoke to kids and their parents.
8-07-11 4:55pm Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a complaint of cattle loose in the area of 160th and R Ave, Cattle owner was notified and will be getting cattle rounded up.
8-08-11 9:51am Deputy Godzicki responded to the 600 block of 216th Ogden. Property owner reported a vehicle from Florida was inquiring about scrap metal. Metal is becoming more valuable, metals of kinds. All suspicius activity should be reported.
8-08-11 11:25am Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of a screen door that was laying on the roadway in the 1100 block of 216th St. Deputy removed the door.
8-09-11 6:56am Deputy Godzicki responded to West Ames in the area of 5900 block of West Lincolnway. Reported CD Player stolen from a vehicle overnight. Investigation continuing.
8-09-11 2:08pm Deputy Fangman investigated the theft of Social Security cards from a residence in the 100 block of 1st St. Pilot Mound. Investigation continuing.
8-09-11 4:52pm Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of a license plate stolen off a vehicle in the 300 block of West 16th St, Boone. Investigation continuing.
8-09-11 4:39pm Deputy Godzicki and Sgt Kendall responded to an unattended death in the 100 block of 2nd St, Pilot Mound.
8-09-11 6:48pm Deputy Fangman arrested a Jay D. Kennedy 34 of Ames in the 1400 block of Quill Ave, Boone. Warrant was out of Story County bond $2,000.00 for failure to appear. Transported to the Story County line.
8-10-11 1:12am Deputy Ellison responded to Van Wall Equipment east of Madrid on 210. Suspicious activity reported. Gate was left open but nothing seemed out of place or missing at this time.
8-10-11 1:26pm Deputy Godzicki responded to Ogden to assist in the arrest and transport of a prisoner to the Story County line. Arrested was Scott A. Kendall 24 of Boone on a Story County warrant for failure to appear, bond $400.00.
8-10-11 7:14pm The Sheriff's Office was called to confirm a warrant for a Garry Little 46 of Boone. Little was confirmed to be wanted on a Boone County for failure to pay child support bond $2,000.00. He was being held by the Camanche Police Dept on thier charges and will hold for both.
8-10-11 9:09 pm Deputy Fangman responded to the Story County line to pick up a prisoner arrested by Ames P.D. on a Boone County warrant, trasnported to the Boone County Jail was Timothy J. Nordin 22 of Boone. Warrant was for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, bond $5,000.00.
8-10-11 10:28pm Deputy Fangman responded to the area of 170th and G Ave on a complaint of people living in the area heard screaming. When Deputy arrived an Ogden Officer had just stopped a vehicle leaving the area. During the stop Officer observed alcohol and smelled alcohol. Charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age were as follows. Ashley Ellsworth 17 of Ogden, Kaitlyn Shaw 16 of Ames, and Bethany Colbert 14 of Ogden. Parents were called.
8-11-11 3:55pm Deputy Ellison began an investigation of a vehicle roll-over at X Ave and 220th, Ames. Driver Mary E. Francis 32 of Fort Dodge. no injuries were reported. Vehicle a 2002 Ford Taurus was totalled.
8-11-11 7:00pm Deputy Gray responded to Boxholm in the area of 300 block Beech, complaint was of a dog running at large.
8-11-11 10:47pm Deputy Ruter responded to Boxholm on a complaint of neighbors not getting along in the 200 block of 2nd St.
8-12-11 12:18am Deputy Gray responded to a medical assist in the 1600 block of 322nd Lane, Madrid. Boone Ambulance responded.
8-12-11 1:13am Deputy Ruter made a traffic stop in the 700 block of P Ave. Driver was cited for open container of alcohol. Cited and released was Robert A. Sproule 40 of Boone.
8-12-11 5:20am Deputy Ruter responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the 300 block of 322nd Place Perry. Vehicle was gone when officer arrived.
8-12-11 6:06am Deputy Ruter made a traffic stop on Highway 144 near the Greene County line. Driver Oscar Martinez 24 of Cedar Rapids was cited for speeding and no valid Drivers license.
8-12-11 4:01pm Sgt. Wingate responded to a call of a camper on fire at Don Williams Camp ground. No injuries were reported. Owner Kathi Berns of Ogden had left stove unattended.
8-12-11 9:25pm Deputy Gray made a traffic stop in the 300 block of Story St. Boone. 3 Juveniles were cited for possession of marijuana and turned over to their parents. The were Mitchell B. Sorber 16 of Boone, Nathaniel Wildt 17 of Boone, and Dillon J. Lorenzen 16 of Boone.
8-12-11 10:00pm Deputy Gray made a traffic stop in the 1000 block of X Ave. Driver Edward L. Yokiel 35 of Madrid tested under the legal limit, but was arrested for open container of alcohol, possession of marijuana, Possession of a drug parapharnilia, and possession of a prescription drug.
8-13-11 12:34am Ames P.D. arrested an individual in their city that was also wanted out of Boone County Individual will be held in Story County and hold will be placed on Nicole M. Yunglas 27 of Ames, bond $10,000.00 for failure to appear. Drug charges.
8-13-11 1:39am Deputy Ruter responded to a complaint by a citizen that there was a strong smell of marijauna coming from a vehicle at the Super 8 parking lot. Boone Officers were all busy so the Deputy checked the area out. Several Hispanic males were gathered around the vehicle and after confronting the individuals the Deputy charged Ricardo Garcia 20 of Edinberg Texas with possession of aclohol under the legal age and Fernando Fernandez 30 of Donna Texas with possession of marijuana, and open container of alcohol.
8-13-11 12:54pm Deputy Pontius responded to the Boone County line and proceeded just into Dallas County south of Madrid. Plane had crashed into the Des Moines River on an island. Boone County Search and rescue was called out to assist. Madrid Fire and Boone Ambulance were on scene and assisted Dallas County.
8-13-11 2:37pm 911 Operator took call from individual in Boone requesting ambulance to respond to Ogden for medical emergency in the 900 block of 223rd Place. Caller would not answer questions per Emergency Medical Procedures EMD. Deputy and Boone Ambulance and Ogden first responders responded to the scene.
8-13-11 7:02pm Deputy Gray responded to the area between 100th and 110th on W Ave, Story City on complaints of people driving 4 wheelers and motorcycles in the ditches and roadways. Deputy spoke to the parties involved.
8-13-11 8:08pm Deputy Gray responded to the Story County line to pick-up a prisoner arrested in Story County and wanted on a Boone County warrant. Transported to the Boone County Jail was Rhonda R. Day 44 of Boone, bond $500.00 , possession of marijuana.
8-14-11 12:27am Deputy Gray and Ruter responded to the Ledges on a complaint of party involving alcohol and being loud in the camp ground. One person was cited by State agency.
8-14-11 5:53am Deputy Ruter responded to a complaint of a vehicle that was west bound in the east bound lanes of highway 30 from the 4 way stop in Boone. Deputy was unable to locate the vehicle.
8-14-11 3:39pm Deputy Pontius responded to the mile marker 142 on Highway 30, after a social worker called that she was having difficulty with a combative child on a van full of kids. Everything was pretty well resolved by the time the officer had arrived.
8-14-11 4:27pm Deputy Gray responded to the Story County line to pick-up a prisoner arrested in Ames on a Boone County warrant. Transported to the Boone County Jail was KAtherine M. Bennett 24 of Boone. warrant fraudulent practices 2nd degree, bond $1,000.00.
8-14-11 6:39pm Deputy Gray responded to an alarm sounding at the Ag Reliant Genetics building in the 2200 block of 229th, Place. False alarm.
8-14-11 9:32pm Deputy Ruter responded to a complaint of a fire with thick black smoke at 1271 198th Rd, Boone. Boone fire responded as was tires being burned.
8-15-11 9:03am Deputy Pontius responded to a medical assist in the 900 block of J Ave, Boone County Ambulance responded.
8-15-11 9:48am Deputy Pontius and Godzicki responded to a personal injury accident at 300th and Highway 17, North of Madrid. State Patrol will complete the report. One person was airlifted from the scene of the two vehicle accident.
8-15-11 10:30am Sheriff Fehr took a report of a possible scam. Boone County resident had entered into a contract with a Hardin County man to build a building on the Boone County Residents property. Over $12,000.00 was paid up front in early July and still no progress on the building. This is a good reminder for people to check out the reputation of the business you are entering into agreements. Check out past jobs and credibilty through contacts or references of where the business is located. Investigation continuing.
8-15-11 4:02pm Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of kids jumping from the wagon wheel bridge near Logansport. When Deputy arrived there was no one around the area. No tresspassing signs have been placed on the bridge.
8-15-11 4:56pm Deputy Ellison responded to the Polk County Jail to pick-up a prisoner who was wanted out of Boone County Transported to the Boone County Jail was Damon C. Jeter 39 of Ankeny. Failure to appear, No bond, only to serve jail time.
8-15-11 10:56pm Deputy Zeutenhorst made a traffic stop in the 2300 block of Highway 30. Driver Walter Cortez 18 of Des Moines was cited for possession of drug parapharnilia.
8-16-11 12:08am Deputy Zeutenhorst made a traffic stop at Highway 30 and T Ave. Driver Mallory A. Pope 24 of Slater was charged with open container of alcohol in the vehicle and contributing to an under age person. A passenger Sarah L. Rehard 19 of Madrid was charged with under age possession of alcohol.
8-16-11 12:47am Deputy Ruter made a traffic stop in the 300 block of Highway 30. Driver Ankitkumar Bhakta 27 of Oskalosa Iowa was arrested on Dallas County warrant, and cited for driving with no license. Bhaka was transported to the Dallas County line.
8-16-11 6:59pm Ames P.D. informed Boone County that they had arrested a Mark D. Haase 25 of Boone, he is wanted out of Boone County on a warrant, bond $15,000.00. He is also wanted out of Story County and will be held in Story County before trasnporting to Boone after seeing their Judge.
8-16-11 8:26pm Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a car fire at 230th and S. Story. Vehicle owned by Earl Dufelmeier 68 of Boone. No injuries were reported. Boone Fire responded. Vehicle a 1991 Lincoln townncar received damages.
8-17-11 12:05am Deputy Fangman responded to the Sunstream Retreat Center with a complaint of a problem with a juvenile staying at the Camp site. Juvenile Dennis H. Grandenetti 15 of Fort Dodge was charged with resisting or obstructing a Peace Officer.
8-17-11 6:52am Transport Deputy took a prisoner James W. Jennings Jr. 39 to the State Prison Facility Oakdale Classification Center.
8-17-11 8:46am Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of a black cow on the roadway on E18 Twister Hill. Deputy checked the area nd no cattle where located.
8-17-11 11:14am Deputy Godzicki transported a prisoner Danny E. Rumbaugh 41 to the Curt Forbs Halfway house in Ames.
8-17-11 1:20pm Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of an assault in the 2200 block of 200th St. Ames. Was a domestic situation Deputy took statments from all parites involved. One person was arrested on a Boone County warrant. Taken into custody was Jamie N. Larson 35 of Ames.
8-17-11 3:29pm Deputy Godzicki responded to an incomplete 911 call from a residence in the 900 block of 222nd Dr. Ogden. House under construction and workers adviced that they had just hit a few wires a few minutes earlier.
8-17-11 3:38pm Sgt. Kendall began an investigation of stalking over the internet through e-mails. Investigation continuing.
8-17-11 8:22pm Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a complaint of a theft from a garage that had taken place inthe 5900 block of Lincoln way Ames. Missing is an air compresser and bicycle. Investigation continuing.
8-18-11 6:36am Deputy Fangman responded to an incomplete 911 call in the 1100 block of Montana Rd. Owner informed the Deputy that they had been having some phone line problems and have contacted the phone Co.
8-18-11 9:05am Deputy Godzicki responded to an incomplete 911 call to the 900 block of 222nd Dr. Ogden. Phone problem.
8-18-11 9:25am Deputy Godzicki responded to a theft call in the 2100 block of Owl Ave. Property owner reported theft from Office of documents missing. investigation continuing.
8-18-11 11:47am Deputy Godzicki responded to a two vehicle accident at Highway 169 North bound and Highway 30. Ogden Fire and First responders were dispatched. Audrey Havican 51 of Fort Dodge was turning left from highwau 169 south bound onto east bound Highway 30, when she failed to right of way to a west bound vehicle operated by Edmund Willenborg 81 of Carroll. Injured were Havian, and her passengers Devon Stanley 7 and Trevor Owens 6. Willenborg and his passenger refused treatmant. Havican was cited for failure to yield. Damages were est. at $6,000.00 to Havican's 2003 Chevy ,and $4,000.00 to Willenborg's 2009 Lincoln. Injured taken to the Boone County Hospital by Boone County Ambulance.
8-18-11 12:50pm Transport Officer transported a mental patient to a hospital in Mason City. Completed at 7:06pm.
8-18-11 3:55pm Deputy Godzicki responded to a call of an attempted burglary to a home in the 2200 block of D Ave, Perry. Investigation continuing.
8-18-11 5:15pm Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a burglary of a garage in the 100 block of 2nd St. Pilot Mound. Taken was horse tack and beer. Investigation of the theft continuing.
8-18-11 10:50pm Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to assist the Boone Police Dept with a party involving underage individuals and alcohol. Location was 702 Story St. Boone.
8-19-11 7:05am Deputy Godzicki responded to the 6100 block of West Lincoln-way Ames lot 26 on a call from family of attempted suicide taking place at this residence. Boone Ambulance responded, Deputy arrived and gas line had been turned on, Fire Dept dispatched and Neighborhood evacuated for safety reasons. Deputy was able to get combative woman removed and taken by Ambulance to Mary Greeley in Ames. Deputy received a minor injury to cut on thumb during the commital.
8-19-11 10:06am Transport Officer picked-up a prisoner at Curt Forbes half way house in Ames. Arrested was Kathleen A. Frank 37 on a Boone County Warrant, violation of Parole, No bond.
8-19-11 12:05pm Transport officer responded to Carroll County to pick-up a prisoner arrested in Carroll County on a Boone County warrant, transported was Dennis D. Craig 39 of Vail Iowa. Original charge OWI, Bond $2,000.00.
8-19-11 11:18pm Sgt. Wingate made a traffic stop on P70, just north of Don Williams. Driver Amy Vanderheiden 41 of Pilot Mound was arrested for OWI.
8-20-11 1:49am Sgt Wingate made a traffic stop in the 1700 block of S. Story Boone. Driver Emily M. Stanton 23 of Ames was cited for driving while License suspended.
8-20-11 2:00am Sgt Wingate responded toward Madrid on a complaint of some people refusing to leave the Tavern the Flat Tire. No arrests made at this time.
8-20-11 4:11pm Sgt Wingate responded to a complaint of kids jumping off the Wagon Wheel bridge into the river. Kids were gone when Officer arrived.
8-20-11 10:01pm Deputy Gray responded to a medical assist in the 900 block of Lamb Lane, Boone. Boone Ambulance responded.
8-20-11 11:24pm Deputy Gray made a traffic stop in the 1700 block of S. Story Boone. 3 persons were cited for possession of alcohol under the legal age. They were Shane A. Patterson 19 of Carroll, Tyler J. Brauckman 18 of Carroll, and Spencer Johnson 19 of Carroll. Patterson also charged with OWI 1st.
8-21-11 1:43am Deputy Gray responded to the Race Tracks in Boone to assist the Boone P.D. with a call of a fight in the pits at the track involving several persons.
8-21-11 8:18am Communications took an incident report of a car deer accident. Driver Crystal A. Haglund 49 of Boone reported that she had struck 2-3 deer at Kale and E26. She had left the scene to get to work, so no investigation was completed. No injuries were reported.
8-21-11 4:46pm Deputy Spencer responded to an alarm sounding at the Bio-Gemma Building in the 2300 block of 230th St. Was a false alarm.
8-21-11 9:05pm Deputy Ruter responded to a complaint of power lines on fire on Highway 144 just east of Angus curves. Perry Fire responded.
8-22-11 5:45am Transport Officer went to Mason City to pick-up a mental patient for court hearing in Boone County Court at 10am.
8-22-11 9:55am Residents from Wodward contacted the Sheriff's Office on a complaint of male individuals on the bike trail tressel after dark harrassing bicyclists on the trail.
8-22-11 11:00am Trasnport Officer picked up a prisoner from the Story County for a court hearing in the Boone County Courts.
8-22-11 3:50pm Deputy Ellison responded to a complaint of a man possibly suicidal at his home near the waterworks. Deputy's arrived in the area and spoke to the man by cell phone. refused to talk very long and hung up. After about an hour it was discovered he was not in the house. Checked various other locations, and could not locate. Mother called around 10pm receiving phone calls from the man. Officers still unable to locate for wel-fare check.
8-22-11 6:23pm Deputy Gray responded to a complaint of a 25 year old out of control at his parents home in the 1800 block of deer ave, Perry. No arrests made.
8-23-11 3:31am Deputy Ruter responded to an ambulance assist inthe 6100 block of West Lincoln-way, Ames.
8-23-11 11:38am Deputy Spencer responded to a complaint of garbage dumped in the 1100 block of 198th Rd, Boone.
8-23-11 3:19pm Deputy Spencer responded to the Madrid area in the 2100 block of QM Lane. Madrid Officer was working a theft case from the Madrid home of a 4 wheeler. The 4 Wheeler was located at 2175 QM Lane, reported stolen by the resident of that home, before the Madrid Home knew it was missing. investigation continuing by Madrid P.D.
8-24-11 4:22pm Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of kids jumping off the Old Highway 30 River Bridge into the Des Moines River. When Deputy 3 adults were located and warned that they would be charged if they continued to jump into the river from any bridges.
8-24-11 5:16pm Deputy Zeutenhorst took a report from a Belle Plaine Police Officer that they had a report of gas drive off in their jurisdiction, vehicle regestered to a Boone County Resident. Deputy responded to the Boone County Address later to inform owner to pay for gas or face charges out of Belle Plaine.
8-24-11 6:55pm Transport Officer responded to the Boone/ Story County line to pick up a prisoner arrested by Ames P.D. on a Boone County Warrant. Transported to the Boone County Jail was Antwone D. Walker 26 of Ames, warrant for failure to appear bond $1,500.00. Orginal failure to pay child support.
8-25-11 9:19 a.m. Deputy Godzicki arrested Brian Hamilton, 47 of Boone on a warrant.
8-25-11 11:05 a.m. Deputy Godzicki responded to 190th and X Ave. to investigate a theft of a 2004 Yamaha motorcycle. Investigation is continuing.
8-25-11 5:50 p.m. Deputy Zeutenhorst investigated a single vehicle rollover accident on 310th St., near L Ave. The driver, Donald Burkhart, 21 of Woodward, swerved to avoid an animal and entered the ditch- rolling several times. Driver denied injuries and was cited for failure to maintain control.
8-25-11 6:09 p.m. Deputies Salati and Lutz investigated an accident at Highway 30 and R Ave. Julie Hull, 36 of Boone struck the back of a tractor driven by Thomas Smith, 46 of Boone. Hull's vision was obscured due to a non contact vehilce and the sun. No citations issued.
8-25-11 Deputy Fangman responded to the 500 Blk. of Keen Ave for a report of people screaming. Upon arrival, Fangman talked with the persons involved. Both persons- Melissa Hibbs, 20 of Boone and Cody Brombaugh, 18 of Stockport were cited for possession of alcohol under legal age.
8-26--11 10:11am Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of a school bus violation. Melissa J. Campbell 23 of Slater was cited for unlawful passing of a School bus in the 1000 block of S Ave. Involving a United Comm. School bus.
8-26-11 5:56pm Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a medical assist in the 1100 block of 115th, Boone. Boone Ambulance responded.
8-26-11 7:19pm Deputy Zeutenhorst Arrested a Joshua L. Angstrom 32 of Ames in the 1100 block of XL Ave. Was arrested on a warrant out of Calhoun County for failure to pay child support, no bond.
8-27-11 2:07am Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to the 500 block of Crawford St, Boone. For possibel suicide attempt, Boone Ambulance responded. All Boone P.D. Cars were busy at the time.
8-27-11 4:02am Trasnport Officer transported a mental patient to Mary Greelyey in Ames. was completed at 5:38am.
8-27-11 6:19am Deputy Fangman arrested a Mindy Marker 30 of Boone on a Boone County warrant for failure to appear. Marker had turned herself into the Sheriff's Office.
8-27-11 4:17pm Deputy Godzicki investigated two vehicle accident in the 2300 block of Highway 30. Linda M. Obert 58 of Coon Rapids Iowa was east bound in the left lane and another east bound vehicle operated by Andrew Chuol 43 of Ames, was in the right lane. The Obert vehicle became distracted and crossed into the right lane, then swerved to the left, hit the shoulder over corrected and struck the Chuol vehicle. Obert wound up in the medium, while the Chuol vehicle went into the south ditch. Both Choul and his passenger Dual B. Gony 40 of Ames were taken to MAry Greeley with possible injuries. Damages were est. at $8,000.00 to Chuol's 2005 Dodge Stratus, and $8,000.00 to Obert's 2004 Buck. Obert was cited for failure to maintain control.
8-27-11 4:59pm Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a medical in the 1300 block of Quill, Boone. Boone Ambulance responded.
8-27-11 11:25pm Deputy Fangman responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the 1000 block of 193rd Rd. Deputy located the vehicle and the occupants Kaitlyn Moore 17 of Boone, and Brittany Kraft 17 were both charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age.
8-28-11 5:43pm Deputy Zeutenhorst investigated a two vehicle accident 2 miles NE of Woodward on Highway 210. Cynthia Roberts-Harwood 46 of Madrid was west bound in the 1300 block when she slammed on her brakes to avoid hitting a vehicle that stopped or slowed in front of her. When she did this a second vehicle behind her could not slow and struck Roberts-Haywood from the rear. The second vehicle was operated by Cindy Woodlund 51 of Madrid. The first noncontact vehicle had left the area, unaware to what ahd taken place. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $2000.00 to Roberts-Haywood's 2009 Ford, and $10,000.00 to Woodlund's 2005 Chevy.
8-28-11 7:52pm Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to the 500 block of west 16th on an alleged assault case. Investigation continuing.
8-28-11 8:56pm Deputy Zeutenhorst investigated a two Motorcycle accident on Highway 17, 1/2 mile north of Luther. Timothy J. Logan 37 of Woodward was attempting to pass another motorcycle but struck the back of the second bike, operated by Nicky D. Cox 39 of Urbandale. Logan was airlifted to a Des Moines Hospital, no other injuries were reported, Damages were est. at $500.00 to Logan's 2001 Harley, and $1,000.00 to Cox's 2012 Harley. Investigation continuing.
8-29-11 12:54pm Deputy Pontius investigated a single vehicle roll-over on the Angus Curves of Highway 144. Daniel R. Hansen 56 of Gowrie was south bound on 144 when he lost control on the curve and rolled his vehicle into the NE ditch of the curve. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $3,500.00 to a 1995 Chevy.
8-29-11 2:06pm Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of Horses that were sold without permission at Camp Sacajawea. Investigation continuing.
8-29-11 7:27pm Deputy Ellison responded to a complaint of vandalism of tires in the 100 block of S. Pilot Pilot Mound. Investigation continuing.
8-29-11 8:10pm Deputy Ellison responded to a complaint of black smoke from a fire at 1862 200th St. Boone. Boone Fire responded. Was a large pile of tires that were set on fire.
8-29-11 10:33pm Deputy Ruter Investigated a single vehicle roll-over on C Ave south of 554. Driver Jeffrey J. Nation 21 of Ogden was south bound on C Ave when the driver was trying to retreave a text message, lost control and rolled his vehicle into the East ditch. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $3,000.00 to a 1996 Chevy. Nation cited for failure to maintain control.
8-30-11 7:03am Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of an out of control 9 year old, refusing to go to School. Took place in the 300 block of J Ave, Pilot Mound. Deputy spoke to the child and parents and resolved the situation for now.
8-30-11 8:55 a.m. Deputy Pontius received a report of damaged sign and fence at the 142 MM on Highway 30. During the investigation, he located the driver, who left the scene. Paul Nielsen, 24 of Ogden was cited for leaving the scene of an accident.
8-30-11 9:06 a.m. Deputy Pontius responded to the 1000 block of J Ave. for a vehicle accident. Upon arrival, he located a vehicle in the ditch unoccupied. The investigation is continuing.
8-30-11 6:39 p.m. Deputy Spencer responded to a single vehicle accident within the 900 block of L Ave. The driver, Keith Dentlinger, 34 of Boone struck a light pole after he entered the ditch. Dentlinger was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
8-30-11 9:13 p.m. Deputy Ruter responded to the 1600 block of U Ave for a vehicle in the ditch occupied by four people. The driver, Samuel Classen 19 of Colorado was cited for possession of marijuana.
